A/N: (1) Once upon a time, a very casual SVU watcher admitted that really, she didn’t like Alex Cabot very much. But then, she started watching SVU regularly and she started at the beginning and by the time Alex said, “Hello, Uncle Bill,” this viewer was in love. (2) I am not yet sure how this fic will develop, or if it will stay a one-shot. Only time will tell.

Summary: It was tempting to ignore the visitor in the room: the years between them, the night in the hotel before Alex’s testimony against Connors, seeing each other at that awful crime scene, Alex again disappearing into the haze of the protection system, countless half-dialed phone calls and lingering gazes across crowded courthouse foyers. Ignoring the lump of the past in favor of the sweating passion of the present would poison them, but the ride toward death would be rough and playful and almost worth it.

Earlier this year F4F did a series of shows on nothing but femslash from current and former televised crime dramas. One TV show that wasn't covered during that series, however, may be the most popular one of all - Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. You don't need a manifesto (although you'll have no difficulty finding one) to see why so many people 'ship pairings involving Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). Strong, intelligent, absolutely beautiful, empathic, with her share of personal trauma, and not a whole lot of romantic history with other men. Oh, and did I mention the subtext? A group of fans, which has grown exponentially, almost immediately picked up on sexual tension between Olivia and ADA Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March) throughout their working relationship. Even the show's writers themselves have acknowledged that they know the fans are out there, and that they've been willing to indulge them. And speaking of writers . . . we'll be talking to three talented femslash authors during tonight's show. To talk about their Alex/Olivia fics will be "Live Like You Were Dying" author D, and creator of the "Spark" trilogy chilly_flame. And representing the fans who enjoy the pairing of Olivia with Cabot's replacement, ADA Casey Novak (Diane Neal), will be "Damaged Justice" writer shaych_03.

Hi, all.

I have had an idea for a fic bouncing around in my head for the better part of a week now, and while I have already begun to write it, I was wondering if any of you here would be interested in reading it.

The reasons I ask:

1. While the fic is A/O, the relationship between our dear detective and prosecutor is not the central aspect of the story, but the subplot. The story itself revolves around the assault of a lesbian couple, where one of the partners is an old colleague of Munch's from Baltimore, Kay Howard. The case then forces Alex and Olivia to think about their relationship, which, in this story, has just taken a rather bad turn.

2. It's an SVU/H:LOTS crossover, so I don't know how many readers care for/know about the characters in "Homicide: Life on the Street", and would be willing or interested to read a story that is already shaping up to have a lot of subtext in regards to the older series; subtext I am doing and will do my damnedest to explain, if I must.

3. Due to reasons explained above, I am unsure if this the right place to post it.

So, yes, thoughts?

So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything.
